Tuesday, May 7th, the board will have a closed session (3pm) and then celebrate teachers during the open session (4:30pm reception, 5:00pm meeting). Here is the agenda for the closed session. Of note is a discussion about a new General Counsel and Chief of Staff. If you haven't heard, Bernie Rhinerson is retiring as Chief of Staff. Bernie has been great to work with and we wish him well. Here is the agenda for the open session. Both meetings will be held at Kearny High School, 7651 Wellington St. San Diego, 92111. Closed session will be in the Multi-Media Room, and the open session in the Auditorium. Don't forget to thank your teachers!
The district is putting together a committee on the Math Common Core Standards and would like parents to serve. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in shaping the new curriculum and it doesn't require a lot of time. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested, contact Sid Salazar.
